News
myGwork, the leading global LGBTQ+ business platform, is excited to announce the return of WorkFair on 13 November 2024. Powered by VFairs, this global virtual career event will connect LGBTQ+ students and recent graduates with inclusive employers from around the world.
WorkFair offers a unique platform to explore hundreds of job opportunities and, chat directly with talent scouts, as well as join career-enhancing workshops and role model-led panels. It’s the world’s largest virtual career fair tailored specifically for LGBTQ+ students, recent graduates, and allies, attracting thousands of participants globally.
Recent research by myGwork, of over 2,000 students and recent graduates around the world, revealed that more than a third of students and graduates identify as LGBTQ+. It also found that the majority of this group are reluctant to join companies where they can’t be out at work. A significant 70% of LGBTQ+ Gen Z students and graduates desire to work in open and accepting working environments. Additionally, three-quarters of LGBTQ+ individuals expressed concerns about working for companies where they cannot be their authentic selves. They fear being discriminated against, facing bias and being given limited opportunities to progress. The report (available to download here) highlights the urgent need for inclusive work environments that allow individuals to get ahead and thrive authentically.
WorkFair 2024 addresses these concerns by offering job seekers the unique opportunity to connect with employers not only committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), but also actively creating workplaces where everyone can work with pride.
