Calling all LGBTQ+ professionals in fintech
News
Innovate Finance has launched the second Pride in FinTech Powerlist 2024 and its inaugural Pride in FinTech Barometer 2024 – two significant initiatives designed to champion the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community within the UK fintech and financial services sectors. They also aim to celebrate the transformative impact of LGBTQ+ professionals and drive progress toward a more diverse and inclusive industry. myGwork is a proud supporting media partner for both initiatives.
The Pride in FinTech Powerlist 2024, supported by Google and Zopa Bank, honors the invaluable efforts of LGBTQ+ individuals who are shaping a more democratic, transparent, and inclusive financial landscape. Innovate Finance is calling on LGBTQ+ professionals to share the defining moments of their personal and professional journeys that have shaped both their careers and their lives.
"As part of Innovate Finance’s commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within fintech, we are thrilled to present our second annual Pride in FinTech Powerlist. This Powerlist will shine a light on the inspiring achievements and impact of LGBTQIA+ leaders who are driving positive change across financial services. We hope these stories inspire both current and future generations," said Janine Hirt, CEO of Innovate Finance.
Lou Smith, Chair of Innovate Finance, added: "It’s crucial that we continue to take bold steps toward fostering diversity in the fintech industry. Our Pride in FinTech initiatives will help amplify the diverse voices within the sector while encouraging further action to create a more inclusive ecosystem."
For LGBTQ+ professionals in fintech who are paving the way for more diversity and inclusion, and creating safe spaces for marginalized communities, the Pride in FinTech Powerlist is an opportunity to showcase your work and inspire others. The submission deadline for this year's Powerlist has been extended to 15 October 2024. Click here to share your story.
In addition to the Powerlist, Innovate Finance has teamed up with Zopa Bank to release findings from the Pride in FinTech Barometer 2024, a new initiative designed to evaluate inclusivity within fintech companies. This comprehensive survey will provide key insights into how LGBTQ+ inclusive these organizations are and offer recommendations on how to improve diversity in the sector. The survey aims to:
- Assess the current state of diversity and inclusion for LGBTQIA+ professionals.
- Offer actionable recommendations to improve inclusivity.
- Help create a more equitable fintech landscape.
