  I am Legal Counsel and Vice President at Swiss Re, one of the largest (re)insurance companies in the world. At Swiss Re and from my time at global law firms, I specialise in the full range of complex life and P&C (re)insurance transactions (including insurance business transfer schemes, legal finality deals, longevity risk transfer, Lloyd’s, InsurTech solutions, and insurance linked securities), corporate insurance M&A and restructurings, and insurance regulation. Before corporate and insurance law, my legal background was international human rights law (LLM), with research into employment discrimination, LGBT refugees, intersectionality of sexual orientation and faith / religion in Northern Ireland, women’s rights, and children’s rights. I was born and bred in Alabama and am also a British citizen, based in London.

  Fliss has worked as an Educational Consultant and Writer for the past 10 years. Her focus is on DEI and Belonging. Advocating for a better representation of LGBTQIA+ people and disabled people in education is a life's mission and pillar of her work. She has written resources for Primary and Secondary Schools, had 2 children's books published and worked in person with students, and in training staff about how a whole school inclusivity approach should function on a practical level. Accessibility underpins all of the work created because she believes fostering an inclusive workplace or educational establishment, cannot be truly immersive if those it is designed for have the barrier of accessibility to it. Fliss works to create safe and welcome spaces for LGBTQIA+ people and their Allies. As a founding member of Pride in Belper, welcoming over 6,000 people to the town in 2019 for the first event Fliss has a personal connection to Pride events across the world. Having scaled up since then. been featured by the BBC and becoming runners up at the 2022 National Diversity Awards, Fliss continues to work year round to ensure that spaces and institutions are accessible and supportive for all. Intersectionality is a special area of interest for her. She has spoken at Pride in Education for the last 3 years on Asexual identities, representation and the current climate of Acephobic language in the media and education curriculum. As Asexuality is not protected under any UK policies or laws and neither is it mandatory or even recommended to be discussed in PSHE in schools, she is passionate about making real change here and creating a robust and visceral legacy for Aces across the world. Having also written and delivered talks, training and speeches and both hosted and appeared in radio, TV and magazine interviews, public speaking is something she feels very comfortable with. Fliss works with SME's and Educational Organisations to explore, support and enrich their DEI & B provision. Fliss opened her Codesign Coaching business in 2023. She provides Emotional Wellbeing and Empowerment Coaching with a focus on inclusion and intersectionality. Meeting her clients where they are, judgement free and working together through careful questioning and exploration to guide them towards their optimal future - whatever that looks like for them. Fliss also hosts an empowering Podcast 'The Way Forward' where she and trusted, experienced guests unpack some of the more difficult situations we face in out daily lives. From trauma to body image, chronic illness to career change - Fliss is committed to providing free, expert emotional guidance for her listeners. She lives by the self penned mantra, 'Whatever the question, let love guide the answer.'
